About Sharon Weil

As an author, activist, award-winning filmmaker, and somatic educator, Sharon Weil has long engaged the conversation about courage and change. Her gift is to find the humor in even the most serious of human foibles.

Donny and Ursula Save the World is her first novel—bringing together her love of romantic mishaps, her fascination with the intricacies of the natural world, and her concerns about the dangers to both.

She is the host of the acclaimed podcast Passing 4 Normal: Conversations with Artists, Activists, and Awakeners about Seeding Change in the World.  In the podcast, Sharon discusses strategies for inspiring change and implementing courage with her guests: fascinating, everyday heroes actively working with change in a wide array of applications.

Her non-fiction books ChangeAbility: How Artists, Activists and Awakeners Nagivate Change, and ChangeAbility Playbook, How to Navigate Your Own Change are based upon discoveries gleaned from the conversations featured in this podcast. Sharon is a highly effective speaker; teaching ChangeAbility to groups, both large and small.

Sharon is an advocate for social justice and the natural world through supporting solutions to climate change, community arts, and holistic health and healing. Her writing and worldview are informed by twenty-five years as a teacher of Continuum—a fluid-based somatic practice that aligns one with a natural state of being through breath and movement.

Before authoring books, Sharon was a screenwriter. Her guilty pleasure, as mentioned above was—and still is—romantic comedy. She has written several.

In addition to writing, Sharon has been a director, producer, and editor of many film and television projects: narrative, documentary, commercials and music videos. She has directed several original theatrical productions, as well as written and performed her own work in one-woman shows and shared spoken-word evenings. She is a film graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts.

Sharon has three daughters, two dogs, and one wild imagination. She meets the world with a great sense of possibility and the required sense of irony. She is an eclectic Los Angeles native, a frequent visitor to Northern California and Nashville, and a citizen of the world.

CHANGEABILITY: How Artists, Activists and Awakeners Navigate Change

Navigating Change is the New Stability.

We live in a time of fast moving, complex change on both the personal and the global level. Welcome or unwelcome, nothing is more certain than the constant and uncertain movement of change. Whether change is met with excitement or met with fear, we can easily become overwhelmed by all of that movement.
